19 year old Student in Ghana by Name Ephraim Okoro Arrested For Robbery

Ephraim Okoro, a 19-year-old Nigerian schooling at Golf City College, Dansoman in Accra, has been nabbed for allegedly robbing his compatriot at Atico, an Accra suburb.
He was said to have been apprehended in the act on October 1, 2015 by a police patrol team but his accomplice, identified as Chimeze aka Cheeboy, managed to escape arrest.
Items found on Okoro included two pairs of pliers, a machete and two facial masks.
Suspect is in the custody of the Odorkor District police assisting in investigations, while efforts are being made to apprehend his accomplice.


Confirming the arrest to DAILY GUIDE, DSP Emmanuel Osei Agboda, the crime officer, said Ephraim Okoro aka Junior and his accomplice, all Nigerians, met a witness in the case and informed him that since life in Ghana was becoming unbearable for them, they should go into robbery.
On October 1, 2015, around 11:30 pm, the two suspects armed themselves with machetes, pliers and facial masks, attacked the victim, who is also a Nigerian student in Ghana, in his Atico residence.
The two subjected the victim to severe beatings and further asked him to surrender all his money and mobile phone to them.
DSP Osei Agboda said the victim managed to call the police control room for assistance. A police patrol team was immediately informed.
Upon seeing the police, Chimeze abandoned his mobile phone and mask and managed to escape arrest.
However, police apprehended Ephraim in the process.
The aforementioned items were recovered at the robbery scene.
He has since been remanded into police custody by an Accra circuit court to assist the police apprehend his accomplice.
